The mission of the Leander Fire Department is to save lives and property with commitment and excellence.
The Fire Department is responsible for extinguishing fires, providing emergency medical first response, educating the community on fire prevention issues, and maintaining firefighting equipment and fire department facilities. In addition, the Department enforces laws and ordinances pertaining to fire safety.
Chief Jerry Williams leads a combination department of over 40 firefighters. The City of Leander is home to two fire stations. Central Fire Station at 201 N. Brushy, and Fire Station No. 2 located at 1950 Crystal Falls Parkway.

Inspections & PrePlansThe Inspections Division of the Leander Fire Department is tasked with ensuring the safety of buildings and businesses in the Leander Fire Department response area. On duty fire companies also visit businesses in an effort to pre-plan a strategy for controlling a fire or mitigating another emergency should the need arise.
